Ep 4: Police, Mental Health & Drugs

Police interactions with mental illness and drug addicts have skyrocketed in just the last 12 months. Not just across the country, but also in the city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Since the beginning of 2021, the Fort Wayne Police Department has seized 4,297 grams of fentanyl. For the entire year of 2020 the FWPD seized 905 grams.

A number of changes have led to this increase between police and persons with addiction, but a big contributing factor in Fort Wayne is mental illness.
