Hour 1: Don Dankelfsen / Ayanna Patterson

Happy Friday! In Hour 1 of today’s Sports Rush, Brett is first joined by the head coach of the Trine Softball Team, Don Danklefsen! The Trine Thunder completed a comeback in the 3-game National Championship Series against Salisbury University down in Marshall, Texas to become NCAA D3 Softball National Champions! We extend our congratulations to Coach Danklefsen, and get a recap of the series against Salisbury. We also ask him about the standout performances of many of his players, and about how the celebrating has been going so far! We are also joined by former Homestead Girls Basketball and now UCONN Women’s Basketball player, Ayanna Patterson! Ayanna joins Brett to preview her upcoming “EmPower Forward Weekend” event that is in partnership with Parkview Sports Medicine. The event will be a full weekend celebrating women in sports as well as raising support for the Autism Society of Indiana. We also ask Ayanna a few questions about how her freshman season at UCONN went!
