Hour 2: Sam King / Scott Agness
In Hour 2 of The Sports Rush today, Brett is joined by Sam King, who is on the Purdue Boilermakers beat for the Lafayette Journal & Courier! We first hear from Sam about how important of a win it was for Purdue over the weekend as they defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini by a score of 44-19. We hear about the difference between the program being 2-3 compared to 1-4 in regards to how the rest of the season can go or could have gone depending on the result of the game from the past weekend. We also get Sam’s impressions of Hudson Card so far through 5 games. Additionally, we hear from Sam about the defense for Purdue’s football team and what can be done to improve that, and we hear about some of the positives as well, including some of the program’s standout players. We also get a quick preview of Purdue Men Basketball’s upcoming season from Sam as well before he heads out. Brett is also joined by Scott Agness who covers the Indiana Pacers for FieldhouseFiles.com! Brett brings on Scott to hear about the Pacer’s projected starting lineup that was released today, as well as about some of the potential rotations that could be out on the floor for Indiana this upcoming season. Brett asks Scott if there is a rebounding concern with the starting lineup, and also wonders if there is a lack of depth at some of the positions for the team, particularly including the center position. We also hear about the backup point guard position for the team as well, and where it leaves some veteran players that could possibly seeing less playing time with the Pacers in favor of youth. Brett also asks Scott about the latest goings on with Buddy Hield as he and the team are still looking for a clean separation. All that and more in Hour 2!
